Using Molecular Dynamics (MD) to understand material behaviour is an effort that many undergraduates at BUET are drawn to every year. The reason lies in both the demand of the modern era that requires breakthroughs in material design and the ease of approachability that seems apparent in MD. Furthermore, there are multiple researchers at BUET with in-depth experience in MD.

Students at CBMML have worked to model phenomena ranging from nano-scale boiling to sintering processes using LAMMPS. Prospective self-motivated students are encouraged to approach the Dr. Shavik with their novel ideas. It is also encouraged, though not mandatory, to review existing literature to find a gap that will welcome these ideas.
